Don't Abuse Your Eyes Until Nature Calls A Halt

Here are a few words of wisdom from the past.

There is an old saying that we never miss the water until the well goes dry, a truism we all acknowledge. Our eyes are abused as badly as our feet. That is, we never realize that anything is wrong with them until abused nature calls a halt.

Everybody nowadays is more or less of a reader.People who are not readers stunt their education, therefore we all read if we want to enlarge our knowledge and understanding.

The trouble as I see it is that we are surrounded with so much artificial light, that our vision is constantly being interfered with by the various colored lights and the reflective rays.It is no wonder the eyes become strained.

The eyes are controlled with muscular forces the same as any other part of the body, and in time these muscles become weakened from strain; how to strengthen them is an interesting question, and should be considered care-fully before the aid of glasses is sought.

Here are a few exercises that are very beneficial to both the optic nerve and the muscles that control the eyes.Rolling the eyes to the side without moving the head is one form of exercise, and then roll them to the other side.

-From this movement progress into rolling the eyes up and then down, and then roll them around.

Hard water is a great eye strengthener, and if you have weak eyes you cannot do anything better than to submerge the eyes under hard water and practice these few movements.

The optic nerve benefits tremendously from it.I have known many weak eyed people to completely cure their eye condition and discard glasses entirely by practicing inst his way.The ball of the eye becomes hardened as do the muscles.I would suggest that on arising and before retiring you practice these few movements with your eyes submerged in a bowl of hard waters; If only for one or two minutes it will prove worth while.Ps make sure you use safe, clear, water!

How Is Eyesight Measured?

Human eyes are more likely to worsen as they get older, and hence it is vital to measure them effectively on a regular basis. There are numerous tests available to measure eyesight with every test serving different purpose in sustaining overall eye health.Hence, the necessity to exercise and practice eye care as you are aging.Don't wait till you get old.

An eye practician may administer each of these tests to make sure that you see things well.

Step 1

Firstly, take a visual-acuity test to measure your eye's capability to view things at distances and far.

The test normally includes reading alphabets of various sizes on a chart.

Step 2

The next step is to undergo a refraction test.

This is vital, if you already wear some sort of curative lenses or your visual acuity shows abnormal eyesight measurements.

Step 3

Next, your eye doctor will carry out a confrontation test to study the movement of your eyes.

Here, the eye specialist will closely study your eyes. This will help to detect the efficiency of your tangential vision.

Step 4

Further, an Amsler grid test will help to examine your macular deterioration, which is loss in focal of your vision field.

Here, you will have to find a black dot positioned at the core of a picture including a grid.

Step 5

You may also go for a tangent or perimetry screen test to determine the loss in your vision field.

Both these tests will require you to focus on a panel and will indicate when your eyes detect objects or lights.

Step 6

Another vital test is the color-vision test to measure the ability of your eyesight to differentiate between colors.

The most usual test to detect this includes testing pictures in different backdrops and shades to help spot a colored digit or logo. The test will help to find the problem, but future tests are required to detect its causative factors.

Overview:

Usually, eyesight is measured by evaluating it to the eyesight of an average individual.

For example, if your eyesight is 20/20, then it means that from a distance of 20 feet, you observe what an average individual views from 20 feet. Moreover, if your eyesight is 20/40, you will be able to see things from a distance of 20 feet, which average individuals are able to view from 40 feet.

Finally, your eye practitioner may also ask you to undergo a physical eye test called opthalmoscopy to study about the internal structure of eyes.

Always remember, only professional and experienced eye practitioners can do accurate eyesight measurement.

And remember, this is not for the purpose to treat or diagnose...always leave that up to a health professional!
