How to Stop Smoking Effectively

Its not that smokers dont want to quit, because if you ask a smoker the question if they had to do it all over again would they still smoke, almost all of them would say no.

So if smokers wish they could stop smoking, then why dont they quit. Most smokers try to quit a few times in there lives, but it is the most addicting drug out there. 25 of the regular users become addicted, and I have seen more people becoming slaves to cigarettes than any other drug out there. Just because it is hard to quit does not mean that it doesnt happen. In fact, more people quit smoking effectively now than ever before. If you are a smoker and you are thinking of quitting, then there is no better time than now..

Many people would be able to quit cigarettes if there was not so much stress in their lives. Stress plays a big role in someones ability to stop smoking. Cigarettes are stress relievers that help your body and mind cope with distressing situations. People that have stressful jobs usually begin smoking as a way to help them stop. Smokers that are trying to quit should quit at a time when stress is at a minimum, like on vacation.

There are some people out there that are able to quit for months at a time consistently but are sucked back into the smoking vortex whenever they are faced with a stressful situation and cannot handle it themselves. These kind of smokers need to find another way to deal with stress besides smoking, or else they will never be able to quit forever.

Since there are many different types of people, and different types of smokers, before someone quits, they should look at what causes them to pick up a cigarette. Understanding what makes them smoke can help them stay away from those situations.

Once a person stops smoking, they will start to have withdrawl symptoms. Nicotine withdrawl causes a person to me mad at everybody and everything that comes in there way. A person that is trying to quit will often freak out for no reason, or will look mad all day long. When someone tries to quit smoking, it is best to not to try to argue or disagree with them until they are done with withdrawls.

Some people are so mad and crazy that they get fired or they quit their jobs. Others may find it hard to get out of bed and feel like there is no reason to live or to do anything. It can be hard to quit smoking, especially if you are having heavy withdrawl symptoms, but the good news is that it is usually over in 3-10 days.

The best part about quitting smoking is how it feels when you are finally done. After just a few week of being cigarette free, most people feel so great that their energy levels are almost double that of when they are smoking. They can breathe and sleep better, and that causes them to have more endurance and to feel better at work. Even if you have been smoking your whole life, after 10 years of quitting, your chances of getting a disease are back to the same as a person who never smoked. Who would have thought that something so bad for you could be ended and reversed

Glasswashers, Gloop and Zombie Glitches - Dont Blame The Barmaid, Blame The Bar Steward Management

I once spent many years working in the service industry, mainly as a bar worker before I had the privilege of working my way up to the point of writing about the service instead. I think it gives me an upper hand in the criticism stakes having served my time as it were. I still vividly remember the trials and tribulations of working in busy city pubs, sophisticated fish restaurants and a local boozer that was full of characters. What sticks in my mind more than most, is that some things just cannot be avoided and sometimes we should not be so harsh to judge what we perceive as shoddy service. A lot of the time, it is failing equipment, or inadequate equipment that lets a bar person down, not their ability to do their job.

One of the greatest nightmares that can happen in any establishment, big or small, local or corporate chain, is for the glasswasher to break. This is a vital piece of bar equipment and is absolutely essential to the smooth running of a bar. Time to clean glasses by hand is in no way taken into consideration when employing an appropriate number of staff. Glasswashing just isnt part of the job, loading and unloading the machine is. When a washer breaks, it is pretty much game over. Having a pub full of thirsty drunks wanting a drink suddenly translates as being in a real life zombie movie; moaning, wailing bleary eyed staggering deadbeats all trying to get to you, disregarding any obstacle in their way

There is no way any reasonable customer, or critic, should go blaming the bar maid for bad service on a shift like that. The only place for criticism on that front is the management of the establishment. What they should make sure of is that the equipment is of a good enough quality for the catering demands of the bar, and that it is regularly serviced. Too often it is the management that causes the service to be inadequate by placing unreasonable expectations on its workers. Provisions should be made for when these inevitable glitches happen and gremlins somehow get in the works.

When it comes down to it, those glasswashers are pretty much the bane of a barmaids existence. It seems that its the only place for those damn gremlins to hide; that and the ice machine. Granted, the occasional optic might leak, maybe the gas in the cellar will be temperamental, but with these hitches, there are always alternatives to offer people. Even with a green feller in the ice machine, punters can opt to not have ice. You just cant pour drinks if youve got no glasses. Poor cleaning of the washer or attempting to wash anything other than glass in it can have pretty dire consequences on the quality of service offered to a customer. A spot of general maintenance goes a long way.

One time, I recall witnessing a customer return a drink... there was something quite gross and unidentifiable in the glass. It transpired that someone had been washing the lunch plates in the glasswasher and it was a rehydrated mushroom. Now that is a reason to criticise the staff, unless it was management that clumsily stepped in. I believe that it is the duty of the critic to understand the background of the trade and understand or empathise with conditions the staff have to work under. Without this there can be a terrible mistake of blaming the barmaid and not the bar steward behind her.
