Teeth Whitening Options: Convenient Cosmetic Dentistry Treatments

Teeth whitening is an excellent way for people to change their smile and get a little self confidence boost. There are numerous options that are easy, affordable and offer excellent results.Toothpastes, in-office bleaching, at-home bleaching and whitening strips are some of the many different ways being used today to whiten teeth. Each has it's own positives and negatives.

Teeth Whitening Toothpastes
Unlike other whitening products, toothpastes do not contain special agents to bleach the teeth.
The toothpastes contain mild abrasives and stain-fighting agents to help remove stains. They will help to remove the buildup of stains from coffee, tobacco and other staining foods, but will not actually whiten the base color of your teeth. Some individuals report some tooth sensitivity when using whitening toothpastes, but the occurrence is low.

In-Office Bleaching
This option offers the best result in a short amount of time.
This procedure is done at a dental office and is usually done in about an hour and a half. Many different methods can be used including gels, light or combinations of the two.The procedure can be a bit more expensive but the immediate results help to make it worth the cost.

At-Home Bleaching
This option involves the use of special trays and gels.
They can be bought over the counter or from a dentist, but the trays and gels provided by a dentist are far more effective. The gel from a dentist will be far more powerful and the trays will be custom made, allowing for better comfort and higher efficacy of the gel.The gel is placed into clear plastic trays, which are then worn on the teeth according to instructions. Some are worn over night and others are worn for just a few hours.

Teeth Whitening Strips
These products can be found almost anywhere and almost every oral hygiene company has their version.
They are somewhat inexpensive and are very easy to use but only some of them work. The bleaching agents used in the strips are generally the same ones used by a dentist but in a far lower concentration. At times, this makes results almost unrecognizable.

Certain precautions and considerations should be taken prior to beginning a whitening treatment. The bleaching agent in most products is a peroxide that bleaches the enamel. The concentration of the ingredient is what determines the results and how fast they are obtained.

Percentage concentrations can range from 5% up to 33% depending on the product and procedure you are using.Tooth sensitivity is a common side effect of bleaches and the occurrence of the sensitivity increases with increased concentration of the peroxide.

Tooth fillings, crowns and bridges will not lighten with your teeth when bleaching is done.Tooth whitening doesn't give the same results to everyone. When using a plastic tray to bleach teeth, a tray made by the dentist will prevent leakage of the gel from the tray and reduce gum irritation.

It is necessary to have all needed dental work done prior to beginning your treatment. All cavities should be filled and a person with gum disease should not use whitening gel. Results will not be permanent.Stains will eventually return over time.Use of tobacco, coffee and dark soda will cause stains to return faster.

Tooth whitening is a safe and effective way to brighten your smile that is affordable and helps give you the movie star smile you want.Consult your family dentist with any questions you may have about which treatment is right for you.

Are You Having Weight Problems?

You know all about the excessive weight you are carrying but sometimes people just tend to ignore thing such as weight loss or in this case weight gain! One of the most important things you need to do is change your habits, both food and otherwise.Losing weight really isn't as hard as it may seem but mostly people think it's the exact opposite or worse yet; they aren't willing to give up their cakes and cookies and greasy fatty foods!Listen there are over 80% of people in our country alone (US) that are over weight!

I can only imagine how bad this is all over the entire world!A lot of people think, "well I'm already overweight and nothing can be done" or "well I already have this disease or that disease, I may as well just forget it".No!Did you know that if you have something like diabetes from being overweight that losing weight can actually help the diabetes?Or that a lot of heart problems can be fixed by adding exercise to your life?

Exercising and changing your diet are both essential parts of not only your life, staying healthy and staying fit, but it could also be the answer to a lot of problems you already have! But how does someone even get started with weight loss? Can you read books?Yes!Can you check out sites online?Yes!Can you talk to your doctor?Yes!There are all positive decisions.

The main point is that you make a decision and you stick with it.Yes it's going to be hard. And yes it's going to be painstaking. But ya know what you have to either choose life or choose what you have right this very second. And if eating greasy and fatty foods is more important to you than living, go right ahead and keep living the way you are right now!But if your tired of being embarrassed about the "weigh" you look, and if your tired of your knees and your back hurting from the excess weight, and your tired of being depressed?

Change it!In the end only you can make the choice and actually stick with it.This doesn't mean you have to be a super health freak and run 20 miles a day and eat nothing but vegetables. But what it does mean is that you start becoming more active, you increase your exercise intake and you decrease your sweets, fats and carbs. Most people allow themselves at least one "cheat" day.The way I do this (even now) is I have one night a week where I let myself cheat.Maybe I went to a party and the cake looks really good, so I let myself have a piece as a reward for being so good.

But!You need to also not do the cheat "trick" until you have your cravings under control. Can you imagine someone allowing themselves a sliver and that sliver turns into half the cake! The point of the cheat is to allow yourself a taste not to let people find you on the bathroom floor passed out from cake overload. In fact, you might find this really amazing: After I gave up sweets, fats and carbs and I would allow myself a small cheat, if I went even a tiny bit too far or I took a little too much I would actually get nauseous.

food like fried chicken and ice cream; bad for you.So when you detoxify your body and get all that stuff out of your system and you get rid of the preservatives and fats and sugars you are cleansing your body, but once you start putting that stuff back in?Its like poisoning yourself and your body will let you know that it's no longer welcome! The simple fact that the body does this, just goes to prove that those types of food aren't good for you and it's not natural to have them inside your body!

Skin cancer - Skin Cancer Signs and Warnings

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States -- an estimated million cases are diagnosed annually and around 20% of people will show signs of skin cancer at some point during their lifetime.Less than 1,000 people die from skin cancer in a typical year, although if you have any skin cancer symptoms or experienced any skin cancer warning signs, it's important to have them checked.

People of all skin tones can develop skin cancer, including those with darker skin tones; and it's important to know what some of the skin cancer warning signs are.Skin cancer tends to develop more on those parts of the body that are more often exposed to the sun -- face, neck, chest, back, arms and legs, although it can also develop on areas not usually exposed to sunlight.

There are several types of skin cancer; melanoma is the most serious and causes the most deaths.Anyone can get melanoma, although if there is a history of it in your family, you are more susceptible. And if you spend lots of time outdoors, live at a higher altitude where UV rays are not filtered as effectively, or have had several bad sunburns, you also have a higher risk of developing melanoma.

Moles and freckles are two of the biggest warning signs of melanoma.A melanoma can not only form on the skin, but will frequently grow from an existing mole or freckle. One of the biggest differences between normal moles and melanomas is the color -- a normal mole or freckle is black or brown, with a well-defined edge; a melanoma is often multicolored, has different shades, or may ooze fluid.

It's possible to examine your own body regularly to try to keep track of any freckles, moles or blemishes.Be particularly careful of any that seem to grow in size, are different colors or won't heal.If in doubt, always have any suspicious moles or freckles examined by a doctor -- the sooner they are treated, the less chance of the disease spreading to other parts of the body.

Basal cell carcinoma is the commonest form of the disease also.Warning signs include a flesh-colored or brown lesion on the back or chest, or a waxy bump on the neck, face or ears. This type of skin cancer is not likely to spread to other areas of the body; it's also fairly easy to treat.Squamous cell carcinoma is also easily treated; warning symptoms of this include a lesion with a crusty surface on the arms or face; or a red nodule on the face, neck or arms.

There are several less common forms of skin cancer.Merkel cell carcinoma is rare, although it can spread rapidly. The warning signs are firm, shiny nodules found in hair follicles and just below the skin on areas of the body exposed to the sun. Also rare is Kaposi's sarcoma, found mainly in people with a weakened immune system; warning signs are purple patches on the skin.Sebaceous gland carcinoma is characterized by hard nodules on the body, especially on the eyelid.

Skin cancer is completely curable, if found and treated early enough. The hard part is perhaps determining what the warning sign of skin cancer is and what is normal -- if in any doubt, have it checked out by a doctor or skin specialist.

Natural Remedies For Relieving Unwanted Warts

Warts are unwanted and unattractive growths that develop on your skin.Although they are commonly formed on your feet and hands, it is possible for these growths to develop on other areas of your body. These growths are raised areas that often remember a callus or a hard blister.A wart may grow in size if left untreated.Fortunately, warts are non-cancerous, but they are contagious. They are caused by a viral infection known as Human Papilloma Virus or HPV.

There are many ways you can get warts, including contact with an infected person. For this reason, it is important to keep your warts covered at all times. There are six common types of warts, in accordance with the location they are typically found.Common warts occur on your hands and knees and are typical, while flat warts are flat and smooth and more likely to appear on your face, neck and hands. The filiform wart is the wart that you might see on someones eyelid.Plantar warts are large, occasionally painful growths found on the soles of your feet.

Mosaic warts are a collection or cluster of small plantar warts found on the bottoms of the feet.Lastly, genital warts are only found on your genital area and are permanent, a cure has not been found for this strand. Most wart treatments include freezing, topical creams, surgical removal or a combination of various treatments. These treatments can be painful and unsuccessful, and are absolutely not inexpensive.Fortunately, there are a few home remedies that are recommended to help you with the removal of most warts.

Duct tape is probably the most popular home remedy used for the removal of warts.Unlike other natural cures, this method is actually scientifically proven to be successful at the removal of warts. The process is as simple as an over-the-counter topical cream, without putting a hole in your pocket.Depending on the size of your wart, you will take cut a piece of duct tape accordingly and place it on your wart. After about a week of the tape being on the growth, remove the tape and immediately soak your wart in warm water. You will then take a pumice stone and scrub your wart until it comes off completely. The chemicals in the adhesion of the tape will react with the growth along with cutting off the oxygen it receives. As a result, when the tape is removed, the wart is very easy to scrub off without any pain.

Aloe is also proven to be a low-hassle home remedy for wart removal. This remedy is intended to completely remove your wart in a week or two with minimal effort on your part.To start the treatment, you should soak a cotton ball in aloe, any form will work, but the gel form is recommended. After about a minute, place the cotton ball over your wart and secure it with tape.Every few hours, it is advised that you apply more aloe to the area and it is also advised that you change the cotton ball daily. If you are consistent with this remedy, it will help your wart to fall off in a matter of a few weeks.

Caster oil has also been used as a home remedy to remove warts.Much like the natural oils in aloe, caster oil's natural ingredients work to break down the warts composition for easy removal. In order to achieve the desired result by using caster oil, apply the oil directly to your wart and gently massage it with your fingers. This process should be repeated in the morning and at night daily.Along with the massages, it is advised to apply caster oil to the wart twice a day and cover it with a bandage.

The use of these therapies combined will help your wart disappear in about three weeks.Caster oil is all natural and is one of many home remedies that have been found to remove warts.
